  1. Hi, I pulled your cheat sheets and I am very concerned. When you look at the National Institutes for Health’s website and the calorie counts it gives each exchange… your 1800-2099 Calorie Cheat Sheet only comes to 1,145, calories a day.

    NIH link: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/eat/fd_exch.htm#4

    Carbs: 4 @ 80 Calories per serving = 320
    Fruit: 3 @ 60 Calories per serving = 180
    Protein: 5 @ 75 Calories per serving = 375
    Veg: 5 @ 25 calories per serving = 125
    Cheese, nuts: 1 @ 100 calories per serving = 100
    Fats (Dressings): 1 @ 45 calories per serving = 45

    Total daily calories: 1,145

CLEARLY this is nowhere near 1,800 – 2099 Calories a day. I even gave the benefit of the doubt and double checked portions… something is wrong…

    1. Thank you for your concern, Jen...however this site that you are referring to is not in the context of the 21 Day Fix and the containers and measurements that it's referring to for the cheat sheets. For example, the information given for the proteins is listed for 1oz of protein = 75 calories. On the 21 Day Fix, ONE serving size is equal to 6 oz. For the 1800-2099 calorie range, you are allowed 5 of those (6oz) containers per day. Now, each protein that you choose to have that fits into the container for your protein, will vary some in calories. For example, 6 oz of chicken breast is about 280 calories. 2 eggs (which is one serving of protein for the 21 Day Fix) is going to be about 140 calories. So the calculations that were done by the website that you referred to were out of context. Yes, I would agree that the 1,145 calorie range would be concerning. I think it's dangerous for people to drop below 1200 calories a day and all of our programs agree with that school of thought too! If you would like more information about the 21 Day Fix and how you don't have to count calories while following that, I would be more than happy to get you additional information.
