What is P90?

He's done it again.  One more amazing fitness program from none other than Tony Horton!  Yep you heard it right...Tony Horton is back at it again.  Ever heard of P90X?  Have you ever tried P90X??  It's hard!!!  Have you ever tried it and thrown it in the closet after a couple weeks...or a month?  (I HAVE)!  Well we are not alone!  Do you want to do P90X but just can't yet commit to that fitness level yet?  Would you like to have a baseline of fitness to be able to work your way up to P90X?  Well...Tony heard and answered!!

Mr. P90X himself saw a need for this too and decided to create a fitness program that could give you the foundational skills to advance you to a more extreme workout and that's why he created P90!  For people like YOU and ME!!  Ones that have tried P90X and not completed it!!  A desire to be in the best shape of our lives is a huge goal, but you've got to start somewhere!  You have to be able to start at the fitness level you're at and increase it in a safe and effective way.

What's the program like?
Don't worry, it's not the super high intensity or pounding of your joints.  It's simple cardio, simple workouts, 25 minutes a day for 90 days to totally transform your body and your life.  It's not just a workout.  You'll get an easy to follow nutrition guide that will help you clean up your nutrition and focus on the right foods and portions so that your workouts will be most effective!  There are modified moves in all of the workouts so any fitness level can start this!

Who should do P90?
Like I said before, this will be for any fitness level.  But if you are looking to change the shape of your body and want to start creating a healthy exercise routine, this would be an excellent place to start!  Tony Horton is an amazing trainer and really has some amazing fitness programs.  He knows how to get people where they want to be in their fitness/nutrition goals!  This is a great starting place as it's only 25 minutes long...you can find 25 minutes in your day to workout!!

Well, I made it through the 21 days of the Ultimate Reset!  WAHOOO!  I'll be totally honest, it was not easy…but COMPLETELY worth it!

Ultimate Reset Journey, Transformation and Results

Ok, I have to do a quick update on Week 2.  I'll be honest…I really wanted to journal more on my blog about my process through each day, and I didn't do that.  Started with good intentions…but life got busy and I was more determined to stay on track with my plan.

I want to update my week 2 since I didn't already do that…

WEEK 2 of Ultimate Reset
So I'll continue with my week 2 phase.  This was the DETOX phase.  And don't worry, it's not a "run to the bathroom" phase.  But you do have to drink a supplement before each meal in this phase (which I think it's not too bad!).  This was an interesting phase for me.  There was one day that I had a headache, but for the most part I felt pretty good.  I had some body aches during this phase, but they weren't too terribly bad.  However, I did feel it at the end of the day and I was achy and ready for bed.  The food continued to be delicious and just so satisfying.  I was able to really taste and enjoy my food in a way I hadn't before.

For breakfast I only had fruit, which I sometimes added a bit of an avocado just to keep my hunger away, but I didn't have to do that the entire week.  I was amazed as to how sweet and delicious the fruit tasted.

Overall, week two was not very eventful.  With a few aches and pains and being really tired in the afternoon, that was the extent of my "symptoms".

These past 21 days have really been life changing for me…  It was a complete mind shift for me in discipline!!
 I decided to do this Reset because I felt like my body needed a break.  I had been having some trouble with some ups and downs with my weight and had put on 10 pounds.  Even thought I was working out consistently, I had fallen into some bad habits.  Whether it was munching on all the snacks in the teachers lounge, snacking on my kids food or during dinner prep, or just eating sweets or chips like it didn't matter.  I also felt like I was getting little injuries a lot after my workouts and that my body needed to just slow down and clean out.  I've never done a cleanse/detox before, so I really had no idea what to expect.  All I knew was that I got to eat food!!!  That was huge for me because I LOVE food!  I'm not one to NOT eat!




So…let's get to the fun part!

I've really been thinking over the last couple days about this process and how I feel.  I truly feel amazing.  I am OFF of coffee (major shocker for me), I don't crave the sweets, I actually crave veggies and veggie stir-fry!  I am amazed that I could get the results I did (not by exercising) but by the foods I ate.  I believe 1000% that "Abs are made in the kitchen".  It is absolutely true!!

What is PiYo? Chalene Johnson's New Workout Coming Soon...

Have you heard the news yet?  Beachbody is coming out with yet another amazing new fitness program!!  This time, it's from the amazingly talented Chalene Johnson.  Now, you probably know her from TurboFire or Chalene Extreme.  These are two fabulous fitness programs.  TurboFire is a high intensity, cardio kickboxing, HIIT workout!  It's upbeat and fast moving.  And did I mention that the TurboFire Challenge Pack is on SALE this month??  It's a great time to get a fabulous workout and Shakeology for an amazing deal!!

But, back to PiYo.  I am SO excited about this program.  I think this will be something that a lot of people will come to love and need!  It's a combination of high intensity, low impact moves to improve your flexibility, stamina, and strength.  It is yoga and Pilates inspired but it pulls it all together to actually give you a sweaty cardio workout as well!  Through this workout you will get an intensely defined physique without jumps, weights and joint strain!!  This uses only your body weight.

Biggest reason I'm excited for PiYo!
To be honest with you, one of the biggest reasons I can't wait for PiYo to come out is that Chalene says that one reason she created this workout is that she was starting to have lots of little injuries from working out so much and losing her flexibility!!!  WOW!!  This is exactly what had been going on in my head lately.  I felt like I had all these stupid little "injuries" or pains here and there that I never had felt before.  I equated it to just working out more and that's what would happen…Well, I'm so happy to know that there is a solution for this!  So not only will this help to define your long and lean muscles, but it will increase your flexibility and help PREVENT injury!!!  That's the biggest reason I am excited for this program!
